“Engines of Empire: The World Grand Prix” takes place in the universe of the Pixar Cars franchise. It will begin at the same time as Cars 2 begins, meaning that most of the characters are well-established in one of the three movies that the franchise contains. Delegates will represent a character from the movie, each with their own goals and aspirations that will take shape throughout the competition. At the time of committee, the World Grand Prix is about to begin. Sponsored by oil tycoon turned renewable enthusiast Sir Miles Axelrod, this racing competition features cars from across the world, each looking to be crowned world champion. Winning the Grand Prix is sure to bring fame and glory for the rest of the champion’s life, and losing will bring shame to the country represented by the car. At the same time, crises are brewing around the Cars world. Climate protestors are erupting in outrage as oil groups grow in power despite environmental destruction and countries around the world grow suspicious of espionage. Delegates will be tasked with navigating these concurrent crises while not straying too far from the World Grand Prix, where all these issues seem to intersect, and pushing for their own success and goals at the same time.

Hi Everyone! My name is Teddy (he/him) and I'm a freshman Political Science major at Emory. I'm a life-long Angeleno, which means I'm a massive Dodgers fan. I've been doing Model UN since the start of my first semester of college and have absolutely loved it. I was a debater in High School so while I had a lot of experience with public speaking, the new aspects of MUN have been really fun to learn about. I've competed in multiple conferences as a Crisis Delegate and have immersed myself with everything that it will take to be a Crisis Director. Some fun facts about me are that I love trying new restaurants around Atlanta and love watching almost every sport there is. If you couldn’t tell by my committee, I’ve been a big fan of the Cars movies since I was a kid and am really excited to see where this committee goes!
