The CCPCJ will discuss ways to help alleviate problems of crime that are plaguing different parts of the world. In addressing situations globally, delegates must consider the specifics of each situation to advance crime prevention while also advancing the rule of law and justice for all involved in the situation.
Topic 1: Addressing Criminal Gang Violence in Haiti: Delegates are tasked with attempting to bring stability to Haiti, following the 2021 takeover of the capital by various gangs, while protecting their sovereignty and democracy, and returning political order from gangs to the government.
Topic 2: Confronting Piracy in the Gulf of Guinea This topic addresses maritime crime off the coast of Western Africa. Delegates are tasked with working to protect the states on the Gulf of Guinea and global maritime trade by preventing crime in the region, while noting that governments along the coast may be unstable and balancing the need for the national sovereignty of these countries.
