GA Second: Economic and Financial Committee (ECOFIN)

Beginner and Intermediate Level

Committee Description

The General Assembly Second Committee (ECOFIN) is a body that debates pressing issues regarding global financial, economic, and  development issues such as labor practices, poverty, sustainability, and trade. At this conference we will be discussing the following topics:  


Topic A: Improving Labor Practices: Addressing Unfair Labor Practices in Developing Member States


Topic B: A Green Global Economy: Financing A Proper Transition to Green Economies

Chair: Amaan Syed

Amaan Syed (he/him) is a freshman at Emory studying Business Administration and Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies (MESAS). He is from Marietta, Georgia and has been involved in MUN for the past five years. Outside of MUN, Amaan enjoys listening to music, going for hikes, and collecting license plates from all of his travels.
